PreventCyber is a public cybersecurity awareness website designed to explain the most common digital threats and best practices in a simple, concrete, and engaging way. The aim is to make cybersecurity approachable for non-technical users, while promoting a strong culture of digital safety. This project was developed as part of my personal mission to help bridge the gap between experts and the general public in matters of online protection.
  • Understanding Threats: Clear explanations of phishing, ransomware, data leaks, malware, and more.
  • Everyday Best Practices: How to protect passwords, detect fake emails, and avoid dangerous links.
  • Incident Response: What to do in case of a cyberattack or data breach.
  • Cybersecurity Basics: Introducing concepts like two-factor authentication, VPNs, firewalls, and encryption.
  • Simple Language: Avoids jargon and uses relatable examples.
  • Visual Aids: Illustrated sections and icons to improve comprehension.
  • Responsive Design: Fully accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Dark Mode: Optional dark mode for better readability.
  • React.js: For building dynamic, component-based front-end UI.
  • HTML / CSS / JavaScript: For structure, style, and interactivity.
  • Netlify: For deployment and hosting.
One of the key challenges was translating technical cybersecurity content into plain language while keeping it accurate and actionable. It required balancing clarity with precision and using pedagogy to inform without overwhelming. The experience strengthened my ability to teach complex topics and deepened my skills in UX writing and user-centered web design. PreventCyber serves as an educational platform that has already helped dozens of users improve their digital hygiene. It stands as a concrete example of how design, content, and technology can come together to serve the public good.
This project highlights your ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly and design accessible platforms for non-experts.
